L'Étang / Paysage avec Maison The Pond / Landscape with House Salomon 13; Johnson 133 five-colour lithograph, 1897, a very fine and fresh impression, on fine ivory wove paper, apparently a working proof with variant colours, with full margins, signed by the artist in pencil, recto, signed again and titled, verso,  two short parallel rust stains at the edge of the lower margin, otherwise in quite excellent condition, having never been framed or mounted P. 300x415mm., S. 410x530 mm.

This print was originally published by Ambroise Vollard* in his Album d’estampes originales de la Galerie Vollard, 2e année, which included thirty-two lithographs by a host of the avant-garde Nabis artists

(Roussel's early bucolic retreat later inspired Ambroise Vollard to commission an album of lithographs, Paysages, that was never competed...)

The present impression is apparently a working proof, with variant colours, printed by Auguste Clot, in order to refine the colours to be used for the edition.
