Pablo Picasso

Original Prints: Lithographs

One of the most renowned graphic artists of the 20th century, Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973) stands alone by virtue of the immense scope of his oeuvre.

From the early etchings of the Saltimbanques Suite and his cubist compositions to the later playful lithographs, his visionary work is both deeply personal and exceedingly creative.

He experimented continually, vigorously, and sometimes abusively with all known techniques, occasionally inventing some of his own in the process.

In the late 1940s, Picasso executed a series of large-format prints, exploring the graphic potential of wash on zinc, of which this is one of the most successful.
